The cetane number of diesel fuel is a measure of its ‘ignition quality’. Minimum cetane number at the pump is 46. Adding DFL can raise this number up by several points. Increasing the cetane number comes with these important benefits.

The active cetane improver in DFL is 2-Ethylhexyl nitrate. When adding DFL to diesel fuel at the 1:500 ratio, the cetane may increase by 8-10 points (depending on fuel manufacturer). Benefits of adding DFL can be realized and noticed immediately in most cases. DFL additive is the best on the market.

Diesel engine injection systems rely on diesel fuel as the lubricant to protect and lubricate the fuel system. When ULSD ultra low sulphur diesel was mandated in 2006, the lubricating capability of diesel fuel dropped significantly. All of the moving parts within the fuel system ie. injectors, in-line pumps and injection pumps, depend solely on the lubrication found within diesel fuel. ULSD fuel has inferior lubrication so that the internal components begin to wear against themselves and in time will fail from dry  excessive wear. Downtime and major repair costs follow. DFL contains ProMax  anti-  friction additive as the component that restores diesel fuel lubrication standards to pre ULSD. DFL is the best diesel fuel lubricant on the market. DFL reduces system component wear

Diesels are susceptible to fuel contamination, which can lead to engine failure, costly injector, pump repairs, and downtime. Fuel contamination occurs when harmful substances such as water, dirt, and debris find their way into the fuel system. The presence of water in diesel fuel is one of the most common types of contamination, and it is often overlooked until it
causes significant damage. When water enters the fuel
system, it can cause corrosion, rust, and damage to the engine’s components. DFL works by breaking down the water molecules, allowing them to be safely burned off by the engine. The active emulfier in DFL is  nomenclature: 2-methylpropan-1-ol. Also prevents fuel gel in extreme cold temperatures. DFL dissolves water droplets and prevents bacterial growth.
